Prototyping in SparkAR

Besides LensStudio, SparkAR is another popular tool to generate great mobile AR experiences, specifically for Facebook and Instagram.

While LensStudio’s interface looks a lot like Unity and Blender, SparkAR’s interface reminded me of Figma and it feels easy to use.

I was impressed by SparkAR’ structured tutorials and certificate program, and was able to zip through half of the intermediate class in an hour.

In a few clicks, I created a similar experience to my last prototype made in LensStudio with less effort (I did miss a couple of animations).

The instructor, Luke Hurd, designed and developed an AR game solely controlled by facial expressions using SparkAR.

I am extremely interested in exploring this capability in SparkAR over the next few days.
